I have also used to following books that help my little ones deal with missing their mommies.
Both of these books also have a lot of great activities available to go along with the books.
But, I get bored easily and don't like to do the same things often.....plus, I have some of my little ones up to three years and don't like to have them take home the same things year after year, so this year I have been toying around with these ideas.
I love Kevin Henkes and I saw this adorable art project on Pinterest!
It's from Mrs. T's First Grade Class. She gives you the patterns to make this project plus lots of other great ideas for free. :) Yay!
I am also toying with the idea of starting the year with this book, too.
I think the two could go together nicely. One of my co-workers and I are already working on some fun things to do with this book. Plus, there are lots of great ideas out there, as well.
Messy Kids has a lot of great ideas to integrate this book into major subject areas.
This comes from Kindergarten Days along with great open house ideas.
I also love how it would easily lend itself into an 'All About Me' theme.
This is from Experiments in Art Education
This comes from Field Elementary Art Blog
Plus, it could easily lend itself into name or initial painting such as this:
from Little Page Turners that also has a great post on 'I Ain't Gonna Paint No More'
Be sure to head over to First Grade and Fabulous to check out all the other posts or even link up your own!
Thanks for reading! Have a great day. :)
I love the Wemberly Worried project! Mouse Paint is another cute book that would go well with it!
