Sunday Special Tidbits Blog Hop!

Today I am linking up with Tasha from A Tender Teacher for Special Needs for her Sunday Special Tidbit Blog Hop.
The theme this week is lunch vocabulary.  She shares a fabulous ideas that you should definitely check out.

My littles are only with me three hours a day.  I have a morning and afternoon session.  My morning sweeties are the younger of the bunch, while my afternoon are learners who go to kindergarten the following year.  We have snack instead of lunch.  I started using placemats a few years back.  I take a piece of construction paper and let them decorate their own mat.  Afterward, I laminate them.  They last the whole year and then they are allowed to take them home at the end of the year. I used to just give them stickers and tissue paper/ construction squares to decorate, but the past couple of years I decided to make it more of a learning activity.  I give them shapes, colors, address and phone number information to glue on, too.  Then, while they are eating snack we can find certain shapes, colors, etc.  I also then have their personal information handy so we can work on birthday, letters in their names, address, phone number, etc.  It really has worked our quite well.  I will differentiate what to put on the mat depending on the age and skill level of my learner.
You can grab a free copy of learning mat materials by clicking HERE or on the pictures below.
Be sure to head over to A Tender for Special Needs to get some ideas to use in your classroom or post your own.
Thanks for reading!  Have a great day  :)

  2. Can you please recommend if Phoenix pre-k works fine for my small daughter? Any other school you desire to propose me wherever I can enroll my child?
