Currently~August

It's already August!  Time flies when you're having fun in the summer.  Since it's the first of the month, it's time for 'Currently' from Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade.
Here is my 'currently' list.
LISTENING:  I know she is not a brand new artist, but she is new to me.  I love Birdy.  She has the most beautiful, haunting voice.  I am in love with her.
LOVING:  Usually late July and August in my neck of the woods is unbearably hot, humid, and down right miserable.  However, we have been blessed lately with temperatures that remind me of San Diego.  I'll take that any day!
THINKING:  My son plays college baseball and his summer team just won the championship series.  Sam was voted MVP of the series.  It makes this momma very proud.  :)
Here is a quote from the local newspaper.
Milgram outfielder Sam Morman, a senior-to-be at William Jewell, was chosen the MVP. Morman, whose father, Russ Morman, played for the Royals in 1990-91, batted .381 in the series. He was eight for 21 with a double and seven RBIs.
“It was a great season, I couldn’t do it on my own,” Morman said after being presented with the MVP award. “It was a fun team to be around and I had a lot of good times with you guys.”
WANTING:  A room fairy to magically set up my classroom!  This is probably the latest I have been with setting up my classroom.  Between classes, baseball, socializing, and just enjoying summer I have yet to make the trek back to school.  Thing is I know it will get done, so I am just trying to stress too much about it.
NEEDING:  This probably goes along with my 'WANTING', but I need to start thinking about making the switch mentally back to a school mind set.  Again, I know it will get done, I am just savoring every last second of summer break.  :)
FIRST DAY BACK:  My first official contract day is August 11th.  The little ones come back on the 14th.  One more week of summer and I am going to soak it all in and enjoy every last second!

Be sure to head over to Oh' Boy Fourth Grade to link your 'Currently' list or just enjoy meeting other bloggers.
Thanks for reading!
Have a great day.  :)

  1. Wow, congratulations to your son! Your first day is so soon...good luck getting everything ready. If you find that room fairy, send it down to NC when you're done, okay? Haha!

  5. I'm in lower Michigan and this has been the nicest summer in about five years. I'm just waiting to go back and hear from some that it's been too cold... but when you can walk outside and not feel any difference, and there's cool air to sleep in most nights, man, it is my kind of summer! Enjoy your last few days! See you around. Kathleen

  6. I will have to look up Birdy. I LOVE music, so I'm always game for finding new artists. We start school tomorrow!! The kids come back on Tuesday. I have worked all summer and still won't be finished! There were two teachers before me in my room. They took things that didn't belong to them and left it very unorganized. Anyway, I'm okay with it not being complete. It will get done sooner or later. I also want to share that I have started doing a weekly link up called Sunday Special Tidbits. I'd love for you to join!
