A Peek at My Week + FREEBIES!

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to showcase my week (or two)....
School officially started for us two and a half weeks ago and I'm still trying to adjust!
This pretty much says it all........
When I'm not sleeping ;) I am at school with my new batch of cutie patooties.  Take a look at what we have been up to....
Let's backtrack to 'Meet the Teacher' night.  This little guy helped me get some bubbles ready for my sweet babies to take home.
I  picked up the bubbles at Target's Dollar Spot.  If you would like these labels click HERE.  The labels are Avery 'Print-to-the-Edge Round Labels, 12 per sheet' You can also use regular paper if you prefer.  You will just have to cut and glue or tape onto the bottles.  The bubble graphics are from Trioriginals.
I use 'Handwriting Without Tears' in my class.  Here we are building 'Mat Man' to help us learn how to draw a person.
Then, I show my learners how to draw what we just built.
This little guy nailed it!
We then drew ourselves on the first day of school.
The 'All About Me Pennant' is a freebie available HERE.
I started introducing 'Bucket Filling' classroom activities this past week.  I found this clear paint can at the Container Store and knew immediately I would use it to store my 'warm fuzzies' (hot glued to a popsicle stick).
The little ones sorted bucket filling vs. bucket dipping pictures.
We talked about it everyday and sorted a few more pictures while discussing the scenarios.
They are already figuring out bucket filling vs. bucket dipping behaviors and point them out during the day.  :)
I launched book making this week and was over the moon when one of my sweethearts from last year made the most phenomenal book!  I had read an Elephant and Piggie book by Mo Willems.  During the classroom read, I pointed out the speech bubbles that Mo used to show who was speaking.  This boy took that nugget of information and ran with it.  Here is a peek at some of his book.
I can't wait to see what he will be doing at the end of the year!
Now, for a little non school related fun....My alma mater begins their football season today!  To celebrate, my daughter's sweet puppy is showing her support!
Cracks me up!
I hope your school year has started off well!
Thanks for reading!  Have a great day.  :)

  1. You have shared some really great ideas! I really enjoyed the Mat Man and then allowing students to draw what you just made. Then once again re introducing it again by letting them draw a picture of themselves.
