Made it Monday!

Tara from 4th Grade Frolics is offering her weekly 'Made It Monday' weekly linky party, so this week I thought I would show you a fun little treasure I recently found.

I saw these handy dandy paddles lying around an empty conference room and the teacher in me knew immediately that I needed to snag them.  They are a little larger than ping pong paddles and are made of foam coated with a thin plastic layer.  Even though my littles can’t read, I knew the writing on it would bother the OCD in me so I began to think about ways to cover the writing.  Hmmm, I thought I could possibly buy some fancy schmancy duct tape and cover the sides or buy some spray paint that adheres to plastic.  Well, duct tape and I don’t always have a friendly relationship.  I want it to go one way and it tries to go the other.  Plus, if I move it and try to smooth it sometimes it wrinkles and creases.  Yuck! So, I headed to my local hardware store and bought this…….

and turned them into this..................ahhh, now I can sleep at night.  :)

I plan on using these with a balloon to hit back and forth.  I may try to get us in a circle and the person who has the balloon hit to him or her may have to say something like his her name/age/etc. to encourage language development, plus some hand/eye coordination.  :)  Since not everyone has access to paddles I thought I would share another idea so you could make your own set.  This is what you will need:

• paint sticks (often available for free from your local hardware store)
  
• paper plates
  
• stapler

and voila!  Your very own paddles....

Add a balloon

And you have an indoor game to use any way you choose!
